This is an under-construction collection of shapenote tunes with texts related to the Daily Readings of the Revised Common Lectionary. (We're currently [April 2024] in Year B; the "Go to Today's Readings" link will get you pretty close to the right place.) The Revised Common Lectionary is a three-year cycle of passages in the Bible; generally speaking, each day has at least one New Testament reading, one Old Testament reading, and one Psalm (or portion of a Psalm). The Church Year that the Lectionary uses begins on the Thursday preceding the first Sunday in the 4-week Advent, and ends on the Wednesday before that Sunday in the next year, except that if (as is often the case) that Thursday is Thanksgiving Day in the United States, then the Thanksgiving Service readings are given to the preceding Church Year. The Ѿ symbol indicates that a particular reading has a hymn ready to try.
