Fremont Baptist Church, Seattle, Washington

Welcome to our updatable website. Our internet provider decided to stop hosting, so while our site is still there at fremontbaptistchurch.org, we can apparently no longer update it. So this will have to serve till something better comes along... (updates can also often be found on our Facebook page.) Leland Bryant Ross, whose Neocities site this is hosted on, is responsible for the details of the content here. Email him with any corrections or comments.

Worship with us in person (or if necessary, on Zoom) every Sunday morning at 10:30 AM. The church is located at 717 N 36th street, two blocks uphill from the Center of the Universe, and halfway between the Troll and Lenin.

Here are a few upcoming special events we'd love to see you at...
The Fremont Fair
Christmas in July

The Fremont Fair

Come to the Fremont Fair this weekend, all day Saturday and Sunday, June 21 and 22, 2025. The Fremont Solstice Parade starts at noon on Saturday and gets over an hour to 90 minutes later. Be forewarned, bring eye covers; the parade customarily includes a fairly large number of bicyclists with no clothing on (though most of them, thank goodness, are heavily painted!) and after the parade some of them typically wander about the Fair still wearing only body paint. Not sure where the nearest other Baptist church is that annually doles out free coffee and lemonade to a bunch of nudists.

We don't charge anything for the beverages, but we do welcome cash donations. 100% of all funds collected are given to the Family Works Food Bank in Wallingford, the direct descendant of the Fremont Food Bank that began in our church basement about 1970 during the "Boeing Bust". We do charge $$, $30 to be precise, for the rental of any unclaimed parking spaces in our church parking lot, all day Saturday and Sunday after church. Church members and those volunteering in the orange booth have first dibs for spaces. All funds collected there, as at the orange booth, are donated directly and in their entirety to the Family Works Food Bank.

Christmas in July Carol Sing

On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, join us in the sanctuary from 7 to 8 pm to sing hymns and carols of Christmas. We usually have a carol sing in December (and probably will again this year) but having one in July is a new thing for us. If you like Christmas hymns and carols and think December is too long to wait, join us!

The singing in the sanctuary will be very simple and informal, mostly using well-known hymns and carols found in our pew hymnals. It will be limited to Christian Christmas texts. We hope to have guitar and piano accompaniments, and with luck a bit of the old organ. If there are people who would like to sing some non-Christian (secular, seasonal or whatever) ones, after the singing in the sanctuary we can walk to the Troll, a short block from the church, and sing them there.
