The Hymnary database shows this hymn set to eight different tunes, four of which are nearly tied for first place (OLMUTZ, 11; SCHUMANN, 10; DENNIS, 9; BOYLSTON, 8). Many recent hymnals modernize parts of the text, and in a couple of cases the first line is altered from "A parting hymn" to read "A hymn of joy". I am inclined to set the Traditional Text to OLMUTZ and DENNIS, and the modified one to SCHUMANN and BOYLSTON.Traditional Text set to
